What is a TBI?

Traumatic Brain Injury

A TBI is defined as an insult to the brain caused by an external, physical, and/or shear force.

Examples include:

Commonly resulting in varying degrees of Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI).

Workers Compensation

Often involves head injuries that require careful assessment for potential TBIs.

Sports Injury

Athletic activities can lead to head trauma necessitating prompt evaluation for possible concussions.

Slip and Slide / Falls

Accidents causing falls can result in head injuries requiring immediate medical attention.
Levels of TBI Severity

There are different levels of severity of TBI:

Mild
80% (Most patients in MVA)*

Moderate
10-13% of patients

Severe
7-10% of patients
